The Starry Sky Acoustic Ceiling Panel combines visual atmosphere with sound control for hotel suites, children's bedrooms, and home theaters. The system uses PET acoustic panels or gypsum as the base material, manufactured in 1200*600mm or 1200*1200mm dimensions. Thickness fixed at 40mm with density options of 1900g/m2 or 2400g/m2. The surface displays 48 color possibilities or plaster finishes to simulate a starry pattern while absorbing ambient noise. Applications extend to music halls, gymnasiums, villas, and kindergartens where both acoustic treatment and decorative ceiling appearance are required.

Installation requirements

Suspended ceiling grid (T-grid) system recommended for 1200×600mm and 1200×1200mm modules. Direct screw-fixing to wooden furring strips possible for gypsum panels. PET panels require support spacing not exceeding 600mm. For starry sky effect with fiber optics, minimum plenum depth of 150mm required above the panel.

Fire safety classification

PET panels: Class B1 (difficult to ignite) per GB 8624 or Class A per ASTM E84 with flame spread ≤25. Gypsum panels: Class A non-combustible. Always verify local building code requirements for ceiling finishes in hotels and public assembly spaces.

Maintenance & cleaning

Vacuum with brush attachment monthly to remove dust from open-cell PET surface. For gypsum panels, dry wipe only. Do not pressure wash or steam clean. Spot clean with isopropyl alcohol on PET for stains.

Common technical questions
Can the starry effect be added to both PET and gypsum panels?
Yes. For PET panels, fiber optic strands can be inserted through the panel thickness. For gypsum panels, pin holes are drilled and fiber optics installed from the back side. Minimum thickness 40mm accommodates fiber routing.
What is the weight per panel?
1200×600×40mm PET panel at 1900g/m² weighs approximately 1.37kg. Same size gypsum panel weighs 5.8kg. 1200×1200mm gypsum panel weighs 11.5kg; verify ceiling grid load capacity before installation.
Are 48 colors available as stock or custom?
48 standard colors are ready-to-ship. Custom color matching requires minimum order quantity of 100 panels and adds 10-15 working days. Plaster finish (white) can be painted on-site to any RAL or NCS color.
How to achieve the starry sky effect with backlighting?
Use PET panels with dark surface color (navy, black, dark blue). Install LED strip lighting or point light sources above the panel. The panel material diffuses light while keeping pinprick stars visible. Gypsum panels require pre-drilled pin holes for star points.
